Dr. Quick and his staff are amazing. We just went through a difficult time with our boxer and Dr. Quick and his staff went above and beyond. They were knowledgeable, caring and compassionate. They never pushed un-necessary procedures or expensive products and always gave us options. All our pets are patients here and I highly recommend Quality Pet Care.

First time owner of an 8 week old puppy and when I walked in, they treated me and my new puppy like family! Staff was amazing! I am so glad we made the decision to use Quality Pet Care. Rachael was absolutely wonderful and made me feel so comfortable, she explained everything before and after our visit. Our puppy Valor was so comfortable at his 1st visit and that made me so happy! Thank you to the whole staff for being awesome!

Dr. Quick and his staff have always gone out of their way to care for our Snowflake, Gato and "Kitten." His staff is well-trained and compassionate. Dr. Quick himself has gone above and beyond the call of duty. One late night Snowflake began to bleed from someplace where she should not have been bleeding and I called Dr. Quick. The answering service passed the message onto him and he called us back immediately. As it turns out, he was within minutes of arriving home over an hour away and in spite of that, he turned around and sped back to meet us at the office. He took care of Snowflake. If that isn't dedication, then I don't know what is. Even off-duty, he acts as if he is on-duty. One time we were in a local market shopping and passed him and his family. One of our pets was having an issue earlier that week which he was made aware of. So, there in the market, on his personal time, he starts inquiring as to the status of our little beastie to make sure he was alright. Dr. Quick is one of those doctors who looks upon his patients as if they were his children, I think, based on how he has interacted with our pets AND he truly cares about all animals. I can't count the number of times he has taken in strays, injured animals off the street, dropped off by concerned citizens, etc, and nursed them back to health, sometimes asking for help but always bringing the animals back to health if possible. What sort of doctor does that? A REAL DOCTOR. And there you have it. I am sure there are other caring vets in the area but as for me and my wife, we would not trust out little Snowflake, our Gato or our "Kitten" with any other doctor.

My Chihuahua's eye was out of socket and even though it was about 5 minutes to closing Dr, Quick waited for us and took her into surgery immediately. The BEST vet I have ever used. He is the kind of vet that actually cares for his patients. My elderly pup "jazzie" has arthritis in her hips, and he has given her that puppy dance again. I would strongly recommend him to anyone that is looking for a vet. His staff is just as caring and takes the time to get to know you and your family member. They remember your concerns from previous visits and check up on these concerns on your next visit.

My son dropped our dog Dexter rather than dropping his new tablet and accidentally broke his leg. We took him to Quality Pet and they gave us immediate attention. They continually checked on Dexter throughout the entire healing process and they worked out a doable payment plan with me. I rate their office with 5 stars. Thank you all for all your help, my dog healed 100% and because of the great care we received, this is now Dexter's vet. Very satisfied customer!! :)

We brought our dog here for the first time on New Years Eve when she had an unfortunate run-in with a porcupine. My 10 year old dog Billy couldn't walk anymore. I knew he had some arthritis in his hind legs but I was shocked. He received great care from the entire staff including laser therapy. I had my doubts about the laser treatment but tried it. Today, 6 months later, Billy is walking, running and jumping, and is on no medication. As an animal rescue, we depend on our Vets more than any other people or professions. Our experience with Quality Pet Care have been outstanding. Because of the nature of what we do, we see many abandon, neglected and abused animals. Dr. Quick and his staff are always ready to step up to the plate and do what is necessary to help to ensure these animals are taken care of properly. Dr. Quick cares about animals. That sums it up. The staff is always professional but very warm and friendly. The office and exam rooms are always very clean and they do not smell. One quick "hero" story. One time late at night our little Snowflake was experiencing abnormal bleeding. I texted Dr. Quick, who was already getting close to home about an hour away. Without hesitation he turned right around and drove back to the office to care for her. Now, THAT is an authentic physician.

Exotic Veterinarians

Establishing a good working relationship with a veterinarian can be a challenge for any pet owner, but is a special challenge for the exotic pet owner. The exotic pet owner must find a vet who is willing to see their pet, knows something about their pet, and has the knowledge, facilities and equipment to treat their pet.

A vet with an interest in exotics doesn't necessarily have the knowledge for treating them.  Such specialists can be hard to come by. We have the training, credentials and memberships in specialty organizations such as the Association of Avian Veterinarians (AAV) or the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians (ARAV).

Most importantly, you should not wait until an emergency to find a vet. If your pet should get sick, you will want a veterinarian with whom you feel comfortable and who is comfortable dealing with your pet.  This will help make the situation less stressful. For this reason, an initial check up is well advised for any new pet.  This is a good chance to see how a veterinarian handles your pet and how comfortable they are with your pet, and also to see if you and the veterinarian make a good match - sometimes there is a personality clash and you won't develop a good rapport with a certain veterinarian. We are familiar with exotics, and we will spend a good deal of time discussing the care of your particular pet, as many problems with exotic pets are related to improper diet or other aspects of care.

Finding the right vet can be a challenge and may not seem that important when your pet is healthy, but the effort will be well worth it if your pet should fall ill!  Call us for your exotic pet's veterinary needs.

Nutritional Counseling

From the very first day you bring a new pet home through the final days of its life, nutrition plays a critical role in your pet’s overall health and well-being. Many pet owners take nutrition for granted, in part because the availability of so many nutritionally complete commercial diets has taken much of the guesswork out of choosing a suitable diet for a pet. However, did you know that your pet’s nutritional needs change with age and activity level? Did you know that specially formulated diets can assist in the management of various medical conditions, including kidney disease, diabetes, arthritis, and heart disease? Do you know how many calories your pet should have each day and whether you are over- or underfeeding? Are you comfortable reading and interpreting pet food labels?

Parasite Prevention and Control

There was a time when parasites like fleas, ticks, and roundworms were considered mostly a nuisance. Now, however, we know that parasites can cause serious illness and even death in pets. For example, ticks can transmit infections like Lyme disease, and fleas can transmit tapeworms and Bartonella, the bacteria that causes “cat scratch fever” in humans. Another type of parasite, called a heartworm, is transmitted by mosquitoes. Heartworms live in your pet’s lungs and heart, causing damage to these organs, and sometimes even death. Intestinal parasites, like roundworms and hookworms, also threaten pets and are even transmissible to humans.

Reptiles

Snakes, iguanas, turtles, and other reptiles are becoming increasingly popular as pets. Certain reptiles can live long, healthy lives as pets, but proper nutrition, care and husbandry are essential. This means that pet owners need the most accurate and reliable information available to help ensure the health and well-being of their pet. For example, did you know that the best things to feed your reptile, and how often? Do you know how much UV light is optimal, and which type? Should you get a heat rock? Do you know how to tell if your reptile is sick? Do you have questions about proper cage cleaning or any other aspects of care and husbandry? Our staff of skilled professionals is well trained in the care and husbandry of reptiles and can give you the information you need to keep your exotic pet looking and feeling great.

Senior Care

Did you know that pets age faster than people and can be considered “seniors” at around 7 years of age? Just as our health care needs change as we age, your pet’s health care needs also change. Nutritional needs, exercise habits, and many aspects of your pet’s daily routine can change as your pet ages. But how can you tell the difference between “normal” aging and a medical problem? As in humans, some health issues that affect older pets can begin with very subtle changes that may go unnoticed until the problem has become serious.
